Welcome to the Sacred Celebration of the Holy Consecration of St. Osthathiose Jacobite Syrian Orthodox (JSO) Church, Horsley, NSW 2530.

Guest Itinerary

Important:

·         The Church is located about 5 km away from the inaugural location (Dapto Ribbonwood Centre, NSW 2530).

·         All guests are required to park their vehicles at Dapto Ribbonwood Centre only. A bus will take you to the Church and bring you back.

·         No cars will be permitted on the church premises on 9th and 10th May.

·         The event will be live-streamed on YouTube on 9th and 10th May. 

Fri, 9th May 2025

4:30 to 5:15 PM at Dapto Ribbonwood Centre, 93-109, Princes Hwy, NSW 2530

·         Prayer song by the choir team of St. Osthathiose JSO Church

·         Welcome speech by Mr. Abin Baby, Secretary of St. Osthathiose JSO Church

·         Inaugural speech by H.E. Mar Athanasios Geevargis, Patriarchal Vicar of Australia and New Zealand, Metropolitan of the Malankara Archdiocese of the Syrian Orthodox Church in Australia

·         Speech by Ms. Linda Campbell, Deputy Lord Mayor of the City of Wollongong, and other priests

·         Gift/memento distribution to guests

·         Vote of thanks by Mr. Eldhose Mathew, Treasurer of St. Osthathiose JSO Church

·         Tea time: 5:00 PM to 5:15 PM

Bus details:

·         The first bus (approx. 55 seated + 20 standing) departs at 5:15 PM from Dapto Ribbonwood Centre with all possible guests. Please be on time.

·         The next scheduled pickup is at 5:45 PM.

·         Pickup point: Dapto District Library Bus Stop (ID: 253024), Princes Hwy, Dapto — approx. 75 meters from Dapto Ribbonwood Centre.

·         The return bus will drop guests at the same location after the Holy Consecration.

6:00 to 8:30 PM at St Osthathiose Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, Horsley NSW 2530. 

·         Reception for H.E. Mar Athanasios Geevargis

·         Flag hosting and ribbon-cutting

·         Lamping ceremony (Nilavilakku)

·         Evening prayer

·         Holy Consecration

·         Return bus to Dapto Ribbonwood Centre

·         8:30 PM: Dinner at Ribbonwood; (simultaneous live musical performance by the choir team)

·         9:30 PM: Wind-up

Note: During the Holy Consecration, a 7-seater car will be parked at Unit #39 (next to the Church), available for emergencies or special needs. Driver: Mr. Jibin Joy — 0433 566 417 | Rego: EUC 74R (This service is available on both 9th and 10th May)

·         7:40 AM: All guests should park at Horsley Community Centre, Bong Bong Road, Horsley, NSW 2530 (Street parking available)

·         7:45 AM: First bus departs from Horsley Community Centre Bus Stop (ID: 2530195) to the Church

·         8:10 AM: Second bus pickup

·         8:00 AM: Morning prayer

·         8:30 AM: Holy Tri-Mass

·         ~10:30 AM: First bus returns to Horsley Community Centre

·         11:00 AM: Lunch served to all guests

·         1:00 PM: Wind-up from Horsley Community Centre

·         8:00 AM: Morning prayer

·         8:30 AM: Holy Mass

·         Takeaways will be handed over after the Holy Mass

·         Wind-up

Parking guidelines:

·         Around 20 spots available at the Church outer driveway (first-come, first-served).

·         Park parallel to the kerb, to the left as much as possible (Do NOT Park at the fellow unit holder’s spots)

·         Leave no more than 1 meter between cars

·         Fold wing mirrors.
